Put the saw blade in the highest position to create enough clearance. Remove the old insert plate and insert the zero clearance plate. The easiest way to do this is to slide the back (with the horizontal tab) into the slot from front to back first. Then hold the front part and slightly bend the plate so that you can click the bottom in. Do not push the plate further than halfway in, so you can push the sides in the middle (with the barbs) in slightly. Now the whole plate should click in by gently applying pressure from above.

Then lower the saw blade slightly and make the first cut from front to back. This will make the insert fit your saw blade perfectly.
